Which City Should Be Next On Your Short Break Bucket List?

When it comes to making travel plans, you’re probably always going to be excited about doing your research and heading off to somewhere new. However, more often than not, we tend to follow the hottest spots that are trending online, or that people we know are going to. And when this is the case, we often miss out on seeing some of the classics. Because that’s the thing about the US, there are so many different states and cities here to see, that some will always be in the limelight more than others. However, if you’re yet to see some of the best sights that the country has to offer, now’s the time to do it. Whether you tick them off one by one or road trip them all, get booking. Here are the five cities that should be next up on your short break bucket list.

1. New York City

Of course, we’re going to have to kick off with good old NYC. Because there are so many things to do in New York, that if you’ve not been yet, it’s time to book your trip. Season wise, seeing The City in fall is incredible. So if you’re looking to book a trip for a few months time, NYC should be it. Make sure that you book some trips to the different attractions, research the restaurants you want to eat at, and that you see a Broadway show too.

2. San Francisco

Next, we’re going to talk about San Francisco. Because this city with its panoramic ocean views is somewhere that everyone should aim to see throughout their lives. Here, you’ve got the infamous bay to visit and incredible attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Pier 39 to see. And of course, when you’re in California, you’ve got the beautiful weather to soak up too, so make sure you hit the beach.

3. Boston

As one of the oldest cities in the USA, you’re definitely going to want to make some time for Boston. Here, you’ll find the Freedom Trail – a 2.5 mile guided tour of the must-see historical sites in the city. As you walk through, the nation’s founding unveils in front of you. But other than history, there are plenty of things to do here. You also have Fenway Park to stop by and the New England aquarium too.

4. Austin

For a musical city to stop at, head to Austin. Your short break will be full of live music contrast with hiking and biking trails. Attraction wise, you have the Zilker Park with its Barton Springs Pool and Texas State Capitol to visit too.

5. Washington D.C.

And finally, you also have to make sure that you see Washington D.C. at some point on your US city tour too. Alongside the White House, you’ve also got the Lincoln Memorial, United States Capitol, and the incredible National Mall too. And yes, there are plenty of great restaurants in Washington D.C. too. Just in case the foodie in you wanted that part covered.
